Besides being tasty and served in an environmentally friendly, washable and reusable container, a healthy lunch should follow the rules of our friendly guide - the Healthy Diet Pyramid. It should

 

  1. Provide about half of its volume as grain foods, some of them as whole grain
  2. Have some fresh vegetables and fruits - about 1/3 its volume.
  3. Contain some meat, poultry, fish, eggs or beans - about 1/6 its volume.
  4. Avoid large amounts of high-fat, high-sugar or high-salt food.

Moreover, lunch should give you about 30% of your daily energy, protein, fat, fiber, vitamins and minerals.
