Here are some ideas:

  • Turn off the television and replace it with a more active game.
  • Take a pledge: "I will watch TV only 1/2, or 1 or 1 1/2, or 2 hours every day."
  • Invite your parents to go walking or jogging or play ball with you.
  • Take up a sport or game with friends to make your heart beat faster every day.
