Hello everyone, my name is Kin Kin. I can travel through time into the past and into the future. Today, I'll tell you about one of my exciting and remarkable journeys.
I went back to the Paleolithic hunting period. I can see all animals and humans were living happily in a green natural environment. Everyday, all of the mothers would use their own breastmilk to feed their babies. Human milk contains different kinds of vitamins, minerals, proteins, lactose, and antibodies in the right amount, and it was perfectly suited to nourish infants and protect them from illness. It could also help mothers to establish closer relationship with their babies.
However, in the 1870s, more women began to work outside and relatively spent less time to take care their home and their babies. Formula milk manufactures targeted those working mothers' needs, and formula milk was invented at that moment. However, it was the start of a bad dream for humanity as well as the planet.
With lots of misleading advertisements and marketing strategies boasting the benefits of formula milk (such as advertising, giving out free samples or coupons in hospital), many new mothers were attracted and convinced by these free gifts, and they lost their confidence in breastfeeding at the same time. As a result, babies were given formula feeding and mothers gave up their valuable experience - Breastfeeding!
Nowadays, the general public associates "Formula milk & bottle" as symbols of baby. The society holds improper attitudes towards breastfeeding - an outdated, unnecessary, and time-wasting task. However, the reverse could be true! Do you entirely believe the advertising materials are reliable? Do you ever investigate and find out the facts behind the advertising you see or just give your passive, thoughtless support? In the future, if you want to become a modern, smart and intelligent parent, you should carefully analyze all advertising you see. Let me bring you to see the costs of formula feeding.
Mixing formula milk looks easy and simple, but it is really a complex job to do correctly. For example, water must be boiled; milk bottle and utensils must be sterile before use. When you are neglectful in one step, baby may get sick easily
The environment is also a further possibility for illness by means of contamination from cockroaches, flies and bacteria in an unhygienic situation. However, breastfeeding does not face these problems, as breast milk is safe, clean, and convenient. Breastfeeding also matches the needs for environmental protection, by reducing the chance of ecological pollution including of the air, water, additional garbage and the gas depletion.
Time has passed quickly. Soon, I need to set out another time journey. Just bear in mind that breastfeeding is a treasure for babies. I hope all of you can make a rational decision and support breastfeeding in the future. Goodbye!
