Programme
The programme is research-oriented. A student is required to take courses, tutorials and to submit a research proposal to be approved by his/her supervisor, and to pass a candidacy examination. In the final year of study, a student must submit a thesis to his/her thesis committee which will make assessment together with the student's annual oral or written progress report. It normally takes three years to complete the programme.
The Department of Biochemistry of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) of The National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA jointly offer a Graduate Partnership Program (GPP) leading to a Doctor of Philosophy degree awarded by CUHK in Hong Kong.
